event was marking a record season for the club, which saw Holland turn out on 39 occasions, and beat 100 teams and win
244 trophies, and 135 of those were Winners! Over 35 members have represented the club in 2009, and awards were
presented to the pullers, amidst rapturous and loud applause:
Well Done: Tony Mason Stephen Rowley Alex Mackeller
Charlotte Cunningham Jason Lay Tony Lay George Goodwin Brian Cudmore Brian Wheeler Craig Hudson Andy Evans Tom

After the Club Awards

Charity event and Karen raised £477 that day with the help of those assembled. The awards for the Barton 4s were then
presented, to Neil Hudson (who travelled from York) James Kerry, and Pete Baker took Susies award for her as she was not

Sarah Bott, and she presented the award to Emily Kerry, in recognition of her 8 years with club. (Sarah Bott was also the first
woman to win a national medal at the Federation Championships, winning the Bronze medal in the 600 kilos in 1992) This
award was made retrospectivley, and also had the names of other members of the ladies section engraved on it: Sarah Bott

Sponsorship Appeal:
Times are difficult, but we must still look for Sponsorship to help us fund the clubs running
costs. We do a lot of good work ourselves with subscriptions and marvellous fund raising
activities throughout the year, but when you consider that we pay £2000 per season on
entry fees alone (with running costs at roughly £4000 to £5000) then we see that our
subscriptions amount to far less than a third of the amount we need to find each season to
compete. If you know anyone who might be prepared to help us with our cause please let
the editor know as soon as possible.

This year we plan to compete at the World Championships in South
Africa in September and Jaggersrust International Tournament in
August, this will be a considerable extra expense, any help towards this
initiative would be welcome!

A BIG BIG THANK YOU TO ROGER MERCER AND MERCER
FARMING WHO HAVE ALREADY SPONSORED US £500 FOR 2010!
